The FIRST audiobook EVER on the life and career of an OLYMPIC swimming coach.
Seven time USA Olympic swim coach, fifteen NCAA Team titles and head coach of the University of Texas Longhorns menβs swimming team for 46 years, Eddie Reeseβs inspiring life and career are chronicled by two of his assistant coaches from his first years at Texas. Former Texas Governor Rick Perry suggested that Coach Reese is the finest man and most effective coach, not just in the highly competitive field of world-class swimming, but in any sport. Eddie Reeseβs swimmers have won thirty-nine gold, sixteen silver, and eight bronze medals at the Olympic Games.
The book βEDDIE REESE: Coaching Swimming, Teaching Lifeβ, details training, leadership, and how to teach life lessons to bring the most out of each individual through the process of development in their sport. Coach Eddie Reeseβs exceptional combined qualities of kindness, humor and effectiveness have elevated him to the status of national treasure. Eddie has a simple formula for success in swimming and life: βTake care of yourself, take care of each other, and the rest will take care of itself.β The audio book includes a new Epilogue with reflections on Coach Reeseβs career.
Five-time Head Swim Coach of National Teams at the Olympics Bill Sweetenham said βEddie Reese, no person a better coach and no coach a better person. This book says it all. A Master class from a true genius in our sporting world.β
Mack Brown, Head Football Coach at the University of North Carolina said, βThe lessons in this book are invaluable for anyone interested in becoming a better leader.β
Narrated by: Eddie Reese, Chuck Warner, and Dana Abbott. The audiobook was produced by Emmy-winning SueMedia Productions (NY,NY). Recorded in New York City and Austin, Texas.
The book is available on Blackstone Audio, Audible (Amazon) and www.eddiereesebook.com.
Winners and losers typically have the same goals but obviously different outcomes. Goals are good but without a system of practiced habits in place, goals alone will not lead to success. It's not the goals that determine success, systems do. "You will not rise to the level of your goals. You will fall to the level of your systems.
Kubick says of Reese "He is a brilliant human being", "He's brilliant at reading people and understanding people. Alcalde says that Reese has a "combination of smarts, intuition, hard work, and a dash of serendipity".

While Coach Reese has made a lot of wise decisions, the best one was hiring Coach Kubik. I think Coach Reese would agree that Coach Kubik contributed to many of the swimming honors and records listed below.
Rick Carey said that the only relief he got from the monotony of training is the sarcastic humor of Longhorn coach Eddie Reese Eddie would say to Rick "I said swim slow, that isn't fast enough to be slow".

Reese is American Swim Coaches' Association Coach of the year in 1991, 2005, 2006, and 2009.
He wins the coveted CSCA award in 1991 for the coach who contributes the most to the sport of swimming.

This training technique helped the swimming stars in this photo reach the pinnacle of the swimming elite.
