2012 Class: Jalen Overstreet (Tatum, TX)
2014 Class: Jerrod Heard (Denton, TX)- started 10 games, winning 4 losing 6 for a .400 winning percentage.
After redshirting the 2014 season, Heard would play in every game during the 2015 campaign. He made 10 starts at quarterback with 1,214 yards passing and five touchdowns. Heard would make the switch to wide receiver ahead of the 2016 season. He caught 24 passes that year for 266 yards and three touchdowns. Heard would catch 58 passes in his career for 540 yards and four touchdowns.
2015 Class: Matthew Merrick (Irving, TX)
Merrick didn’t see any game action in his two seasons with Texas. He would transfer to Virginia where his father was a letter winner at wide receiver for the Cavaliers. He never took a snap for them either.
Tyrone Swoopes - 2015 started 14 games, winning 6 losing 8 for a .429 winning percentage.
Swoopes' best season with the Longhorns came in 2014 when he threw for 2,409 yards, 13 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, along with 262 rushing yards. However, inaccuracy kept him from being a regular starter in his final two seasons.Make it stand out
Shane Buechele - 2016-2017 started 19 games, winning 10 losing 9 for a .526 winning percentage.
As a freshman, he appeared in 12 games with 2,958 yards passing and 21 touchdowns. He also was key in the victory over Notre Dame that season. Under Tom Herman, Buechele split time with Sam Ehlinger and eventually lost out. He transferred to SMU where he excelled as the Mustang quarterback.
