Texas's main issue is a lack of CONTINUITY. The last ten years have resulted in a systemic cultural decline. OU had a perfect transition from Stoops to Riley, maintaining the continuity of the program and reinforcing the winning culture. On the other hand, Texas fired Brown, Strong, and Herman. The donors, Athletic Department, UT administration, and FANS fired Herman. He had four bowl victories and a positive trending program. The Eyes of Texas debacle, negative media attention on Texas, and rumors he would be fired hurt Herman’s recruiting ability in 2020.

In 2021, the Horns had a rough year under the leadership of their new coach, Sark. However, Sark's coaching style did not cause the team's poor performance. Instead, many talented high school athletes chose not to play for Texas because they believed that the school's song, "Eyes of Texas," supported racism. Despite evidence to the contrary, the national press continued to sensationalize the issue, causing turmoil on the campus, and recruiting suffered.

In 2022, the team performed better than the previous year but still fell short compared to their Big 12 competitors. While many fans were disappointed in Coach Sark, others recognized that constantly firing coaches every few years was not a sustainable way to rebuild a winning culture in Longhorn football.

So, there was a collective belief by many Longhorns that firings were detrimental to the Longhorn football program. A shout-out from across the campus said:

NO MORE FIRINGS!!! A CONTINUITY OF THE PROGRAM WILL EVENTUALLY RESULT IN A WINNING CULTURE, AND THE RECRUITS WILL FOLLOW.
